May held the first triathlon of the British Super Series this year, at Llanelli. The course was one of my favourite to date in the super series, and one of my best overall performances.

The swim was a beach start, which meant we had to run into the water. I positioned myself to the left of the start line, which proved to be a good decision as I had a great start and went around the first buoy in around 5th position. I came out of the water in around 4th-6th position which is my best swim to date.

I had a good T1 and came out of transition chasing a group of two up the road. Inside the first lap a group of 7 came together, and halfway through 2 people got dropped in front of me, so I had to bridge back onto the pack.

This group of 5 came into T2 together, but I had a slow transition and lost the pack heading out of T2. I managed to have an ok run and finish in 5th overall.

Overall, I was happy with this result as it was my first front pack swim in a super series triathlon. These front pack swims will help me to have more consistent results as I am more in control of the race.
